Job Title: Mental health support worker; Gloucester, September Start.
Mental health support worker; Gloucester, September Start. Axcis Education are looking for a caring and compassionate person to take up work supporting children and young adults who suffer with social, emotional and mental health difficulties on either a long term, short term or ad hoc basis starting in September. This work could be either in a school or supporting them in the family home. We need people that have had experience in working with these difficulties before and can handle themselves with any challenging behaviour that may come with the work. SEMH as it is more commonly known, is quickly becoming one of the most common special needs that is diagnosed among children in schools today and certainly comes up more and more in the jobs that we have come in. Such work opportunities can come up in both special needs schools and more mainstream institutions along with colleges and pupil referral units and in some occasions again in the family home. So whether you have experience from a school or from working as a youth worker, we would love to hear from you. To apply we are looking for the following; - Experience in working with SEMH in a school environment or otherwise - Have a calm and understanding nature and be able to defuse emotional outburst in a non confrontational way - A in date team teach qualification is desirable but not essential - Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service, this can be provided to you should you not have one
