Job Title: Resilient and Experienced Teaching Assistant Location: Bodmin Contract Type: Full-time/Part-time Salary: £85-£95 per day (dependent on experience) Start Date: 21st October 2024 Axcis education are seeking a resilient and experienced Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with physical challenges and challenging behaviour in a primary school in Bodmin. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and a compassionate approach to working with children who have special educational needs. Key Responsibilities: • Provide one-on-one support to the pupil, ensuring their engagement in classroom activities. • Implement individualised behaviour management plans and strategies to support positive behaviour. • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to create a supportive learning environment. • Monitor and assess the pupil’s progress, adjusting support as needed. • Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes the pupil’s confidence and independence. • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers, providing updates on the pupil’s progress. Qualifications and Skills: • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in a special education setting. • Strong knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies. • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual learners. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning). • A compassionate and patient demeaner, with a genuine passion for supporting children with challenging behaviour.
