School Cook, Westbury On Trym, ASAP Start.
I am working with a school close to Westbury on Trym, Bristol, who require an experienced cook ideally with previous experience catering in a school, to start as soon as possible. They are needing someone who can work the hours of 08.30 - 16.30 Monday to Friday until the end of the academic year (21st July) initially but potentially to go on to a permanent contract.
Over the course of each week, you will be expected to cook independently for the students for 3 days of the week and then assisting cooking lunches for the students on the other 2 days.
The school has recently opened and is set in 18 acres of cultivated landscape on the outskirts of Bristol. It offers an education to young people between the ages of 9 - 16 with complex social, emotional and behavioural difficulties including Autism Spectrum conditions.
The school provides a contemporary outdoor learning approach, with the focus on experiential learning and the pupils engage with learning and development through a whole-person approach to education that draws on the insights of Rudolf Steiner, John Ruskin and William Morris. The curriculum focuses on making, doing and creating, taking part in meaningful activities that engage hand, head and heart.
