Job Title: SEND Teacher - Barnet - SLD
London - North
A large special needs (SEND) school based in Barnet is seeking a SEN teacher with demonstrable SLD experience to join their team ASAP. Mainstream Primary Teachers with an evident passion for SEND and a can do attitude will also be considered. The successful SEND teacher will be teaching a mixed Key Stage 1 class of 6 pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD.) who are all working at P levels, as a result experience of the EYFS curriculum would be advantageous, though not essential. Much of the work you would be doing will be based loosely on the Early Years curriculum with a particular focus on developing social and communication skills. A caring nature, passion for the job and strong self belief will be essential. Some experience using PECS and Makaton as well as a clear understanding of TEACCH methodology would be advantageous though not essential. The school is happy to support an excellent teacher with a wealth of Mainstream experience who can demonstrate a passion for SEND. The role: o SEND teacher - SLD o ASAP start o Full-time role (Monday - Friday) The candidate: o Must have QTS o Demonstrable knowledge of and a passion for SEND o Familiar with the EYFS curriculum o Experience working with SLD, ASD or PMLD. o Knowledge of PECS, Makaton and TEACCH. The school: o SEND school catering for pupils aged between 4 - 19 years old o Experienced and supportive Leadership team o Excellent resources o Easily accessible via local public transport #INDJOBS
