JOB TITLE / ROLE:
Teaching Assitant, Secondary School in Blackburn - Skelmersdale - Role: SEND TA Jobs
Job Title: Teaching Assitant, Secondary School in Blackburn
Are you currently a teaching assistant? Have you ever worked with children with children or young adults with SEMH difficulties? This could be the opportunity for you!
Axcis Education are very pleased to be announcing that we are working with a brilliant SEMH school based in Skelmersdale.
This lovely school are presently looking to hire an experienced teaching assistant for their year 8 class. This is a specialist social and emotional mental health (SEMH) school, and a lot of pupils here will have ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), some will have Aspergers or ADHD. The pupils at this school may exhibit challenging behaviour, so applicants must be aware of this, but for the most part students just need a supportive teaching assistant to aid them in their learning.
Ideally the successful candidate would have knowledge/experience working with pupils with SEMH, however the school would be willing to consider a candidate with limited classroom experience if it is the correct person for them. This role will be beginning immediately, and will be temporary for now with the opportunity to go permanent for the right candidate.
The role will be full time Monday- Friday 8:30-15:30pm. The successful candidate would have a DBS on the update service, or be in a position to pay for one at the date of their interview. As previously stated the candidate would ideally have classroom experience, however we are willing to accept applicants that have worked with children in a care setting, or sports coaching etc.
