Job Title: ASD Teaching assistant
Axcis Education are recruiting for a small primary SEND provision in the North Devon area. Are you an experienced primary teacher with a good knowledge of delivering to autistic pupils in either a mainstream or SEND school? This role could be a good option if you are a primary teacher looking to move into the world of SEN teaching as the school will be able to over numerous training options focusing on delivering an adjusted national curriculum for their autistic pupils to ensure you grow and develop in the role. Furthermore, the SEND provision links closely with the mainstream school allowing you to collaborate with other class teachers and pupils to work in both mainstream and SEND classrooms. The role itself is with a small KS1 class and starts after the February half term break (it can start sooner for the ideal candidate). All pupils have an EHCP of autism as well as other speech and language needs. You will manage a team of 2 specialsit SEND TAs and there will be 8 pupils in the class, the TAs are PECS and Makaton trained and ideally the right candidate would have knowledge of PECS and Makaton, however this is not essential.
