Axcis Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive special school in the Thornbury/Bradley Stoke area. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a nurturing environment and support children with autism and additional learning needs.

The Role:
As an Autism Support Assistant, you will work closely with students on a 1:1 or small group basis, supporting their academic progress and social development. Your key responsibilities will include:
Providing tailored support to students with autism, ensuring their needs are met in line with their individual education plans (IEPs).
Assisting with the delivery of structured activities and supporting children in class and during extracurricular activities.
Promoting independence, social interaction, and communication skills.
Helping manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours in a positive and proactive manner.
Collaborating with teachers and other staff to ensure the best outcomes for each student.
Requirements:
Experience working with children or young people with autism or special educational needs (desirable, but not essential).
A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
An understanding of autism and strategies to support children with communication, sensory, and behavioural challenges.
