Job Title: Autism Child 1-1 Support
Axcis Education are working alongside a mainstream secondary school in Tiverton, who are looking for a full time SEND teaching assistant to support pupils aged 11 – 16 years with a range of learning needs including ASD or Autism in their resource base . The role is full time, working hours from 9am to 3pm, Monday to Friday.
This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to work with small groups or on a 1-1 basis. Due to the needs of the children you must have experience in a school setting supporting students with autism.
The school is a large mainstream secondary school in Tiverton which has a specific unit for all pupils with ASD and additional needs. They have several members of staff who support the students on a 1-1 and small group basis, occasionally within the mainstream class setting and sometimes in the unit.
The school offers a large car park and is only a 15 minute walk from all transport links.

The role is in Tiverton working in an Alternative Provision attached to a Secondary School. You will be working as a 1-1 support for a child who has Autism. The child is high functioning; however they need support with their learning, behaviour and emotional needs.
You will be working in a classroom with the main Teacher and other TA’s. The provision has good resources for the children’s needs such as: Communication cards, sensory and motor education toys and calm zones for children to go when triggered emotionally.
You must have at least 6months experience working with children with Autism and have a passion working in this industry. This is a really rewarding role as you watch the child develop through your hard work in assisting their needs.
This is a full time role, 5 days a week, Monday to Friday working 8:30 – 3:30 paying a rate of £75, £80 per day.
