Axcis are looking for a passionate and reliable candidate to take on the full time role as a SEND teaching assistant in KS1 and KS2 at an exciting new school we are working with in Newton Abbott starting in September.

Comprised by one of the leading Academy Trusts this school is a Special Free School in Newton Abbot that will provide provision for students with social communication and interaction needs; including those on the Autism spectrum. The national curriculum is built around nature and the outdoors providing a setting where all students can learn. The school has amazing grounds with animals, gardening facilities and a pond which surrounds the building.
The ideal candidate must have at least 1 years experience working with children on the spectrum either as small groups or on a 1-1 basis and be passionate in helping and supporting students in an educational setting. You need to be someone that enjoys the outdoors and can engage in activities with animals and the environment. You should be compassionate, reliable and resilient towards challenging behaviour. This is a full time role, working Monday to Friday from 8:15 to 4:00. Pay rate is £80 - £85 per day.
The main achievements the school are focussing on, is to enable pupils to reintegrate into mainstream or special schools; or in the last four terms of compulsory education, integration into the world of work or further education.
