We are recruiting on behalf of a diverse and inclusive secondary school located in the heart of Islington, committed to supporting the personal and academic growth of their students. They are looking for a passionate Teaching Assistant with experience in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviour to join our dynamic team.
The Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
-Support students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour, providing 1:1 and small group interventions.
-Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to develop and implement support plans.
-Promote positive behaviour strategies and contribute to a nurturing classroom environment.
-Assist with lesson delivery and engage students in both academic and emotional development.
-Help manage behaviour, using de-escalation techniques and promoting a safe learning environment.
About You:
We are seeking someone who has:
-Experience working with students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour in a school setting.
-Strong behaviour management skills and an understanding of de-escalation techniques.
-A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting students from diverse backgrounds.
-Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
-A proactive and flexible attitude, with a genuine passion for student development.
