Axcis Education is looking for a SEND support worker to support in one of our SEND schools in the St Austell area. The children and young adults you will be supporting have needs such as medical needs, complex needs, moderate learning difficulties (MLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), nonverbal and there will also be elements of personal care. Experience supporting these types of needs are essential, experience using picture exchange cards (PECS), British sign language (BSL) or any other communication aids are also desirable. Age of the individual’s range from 4-18. Due to the needs, you will be supporting experience in manual handling, using hoists etc would be beneficial. You don’t necessarily need experience supporting in a school environment, any experience supporting in a care or supportive living is desirable. Axcis also offers free CDP and safeguarding training.
