**Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm**
We are seeking an empathetic and dedicated Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team at a secondary SEN school located in the Trafford area of Manchester. As a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the learning and development of students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) aged 11-19.
**Responsibilities:**
- Provide individualised support to students with complex educational needs, under the guidance of the class teacher.
- Facilitate inclusive classroom activities and promote a safe, supportive learning environment.
- Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/carers.
- Support with personal care needs of students where necessary, ensuring dignity and respect.
- Collaborate with other professionals such as therapists and SENCOs to enhance student wellbeing and educational outcomes.
**Requirements:**
- Previous experience supporting individuals with special educational needs like ASD, PMLD, SPLD, Cerebral Palsy, personal care etc.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students and work collaboratively with staff.
- A patient, positive attitude and a resilient approach to challenges.
- Relevant qualification in education or special needs support (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent) is desirable.
