A well-respected mainstream secondary school in Stanmore is currently seeking four teaching assistants to work with students with additional needs. Based within easy walking distance of nearest tube station in Edgware,10/15 walk to the school in a stunning new build site
Hours: 5 days per week, 8am-3.10pm
Pay: from £80 per day dependent on experience
Start date: ASAP
The school provides a diverse and inclusive setting to students aged 11 to 19. They are currently seeking reliable, committed graduates who are interested in a career in teaching to work alongside students with a range of moderate additional needs.
The school aims to place successful candidates within subject disciplines that suit their background - ideally, if they can, within your subject specialism! Working both 1:1 and in groups, your role is to ensure that every young person you support can get the most from their educational experience: both academically and pastorally. From supporting students in class by adapting tasks to suit their learning needs, to providing emotional support and managing challenging behaviours, you will work across age groups and needs to make a daily difference to the lives of your students.
The scope of experience this role provides would make a fantastic foundation from which to build a career in education, whether you want to teach, or would prefer to work therapeutically with young people.
