About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dynamic team. As an HLTA, you will work closely with classroom teachers to support student learning, provide high-quality education assistance, and contribute to the overall academic progress of students. This role requires a compassionate individual with a commitment to enhancing the educational experiences of all students. You will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative school environment, bringing creativity and innovation to your instructional support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons in collaboration with class teachers, adapting activities according to students' needs.
- Lead small group sessions and interventions to support students who require additional help.
- Supervise students and manage classroom activities in the absence of the teacher when required.
- Contribute to the assessment and monitoring of student progress, providing feedback to teachers and participating in the evaluation of interventions.
- Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for students.
- Use a range of learning resources and educational technology effectively to support and enhance teaching.
- Aid in the development of students' social, emotional, and behavioural skills.
- Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school activities.
- Liaise with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to support the holistic development of students.
- Comply with school policies, procedures, and legal requirements, including safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Qualifications:
- A Level 4 or above qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within an educational setting.
- Excellent literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
- A strong understanding of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks.
- Ability to manage behaviour and support the social and emotional needs of students.
- Competency in using technology and educational software to support learning.
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing demands.
- An empathetic and patient approach to student development.
- A proactive, collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
