Do you have a strong desire to provide support, guidance, and care to students with SEMH, difficult upbringings and backgrounds? If so, we invite you to join our dedicated team at our all-through special needs school in Paignton as a SEN Teaching Assistant. Position: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Paignton Type: Monday - Friday Pay: Between £80- £90 a day Hours: 0830-1530 MUST BE A DRIVER About Us: This SEN schools provides personalised, bespoke education package to pupils with Education Health Care Plans who have complex needs that are not being met in other schools. They use a Trauma Informed approach together with our Special Educational Needs expertise to design a school experience that will enable them to be successful learners. They are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging space where every student can reach their full potential and develop essential life skills. Your responsibilities will include: - Providing one-on-one and small group support to students in various learning activities. – Helping with core subjects as well as community projects, travelling with child on school trips and to appointments. - Supporting students' communication development through various strategies and tools. - Building relationships, gaining the trust of the pupils, managing behaviour and communication within classroom. - Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students. Qualifications and Experience: - Experience working with students with SEMH is highly desirable. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, colleagues, and parents. - Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with individuals with special needs. - Ability to adapt and tailor support strategies to meet the unique needs of each student. - A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
