Job Title: Part-Time Tutor Location: Lancashire Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Part-Time Tutor to join our team in Preston, Lancashire. The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background and a passion for teaching students of varying ages and abilities. Responsibilities: - Conduct tutoring sessions in one-on-one or small group settings, providing individualised instruction based on student needs. - Prepare and deliver lesson plans that effectively cover the required subject matter and meet educational standards. - Assess students' progress and provide feedback to help them achieve their academic goals. - Create a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages students to participate actively in lessons. - Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the varying needs and interests of students. - Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to support students' learning and development. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students' progress and attendance. - Keep aware of developments in the subject area, teaching resources, and methods, and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities. Qualifications: - Degree or qualification in the relevant subject area(s) you will be tutoring. - Prior experience in teaching or tutoring is preferred, although not essential. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - A patient, approachable, and supportive attitude toward students. - Ability to organise and manage time effectively. - Commitment to professional ethics and a respect for diversity in the classroom. - Capable of fostering a stimulating and inclusive educational environment. Additional Information: This is a flexible part-time position, with working hours that could include evenings and weekends to accommodate student schedules. The role will require face-to-face interaction with students; hence, the tutor should be based in or around Lancashire.
