Then we've been looking for someone just like you! **Role Description:** As our new PMLD Teaching Assistant/Teacher, you'll be stepping into a dynamic and rewarding role where every day brings a new challenge. In collaboration with other staff members, you'll develop and deliver educational programmes and strategies to support our college students in their learning journeys. **Your responsibilities will include:** - Adapting teaching methods and materials to meet the needs of individuals with PMLD. - Working closely with students on a one-to-one basis as well as in small groups, providing the support they need to engage with the curriculum. - Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, and psychologists, to implement effective learning and care plans. - Creating a safe, positive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages student independence and self-confidence. - Communicating effectively with students using a range of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices and systems as required. - Tracking and recording student progress, adapting learning plans as necessary to ensure they're always achieving their best. - Attending staff meetings and participating in professional development opportunities to stay at the forefront of PMLD education best practices. **What You'll Need: ** - Proven experience as a PMLD TA/Teacher, with a special focus on working with college-aged students. - A relevant teaching qualification (for Teachers only) and an understanding of current safeguarding practices. - An open and caring personality, with the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students and their families. - Creativity, enthusiasm, and a genuine love for teaching and making a difference in the lives of students with complex needs. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills because we're all about collaboration here!
