Axcis are looking for a dedicated secondary English Teacher with experience working in a special school within Fishponds, Bristol. You will be working with children and adolescents from the ages of 11-16, who have difficulties in school attainments and have moderate needs ranging from emotional and behavioural to academic support within the English department. This is a full time role starting June 2021 and will be a fantastic opportunity for teachers who have experience in SEND and desire a supportive, educational environment that really makes a difference!
The school specialise with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) students with small class sizes ranging from 5-10 students, so experience with vulnerable students in a group setting will be essential. Easy to get to location with plenty of car parking space and a wide range of facilities available at the school to help support you and the students, some of which include a sensory room and a therapy pool!
- Level 2 Team Teach certificate in Positive Behaviour Management
- Bachelor's Degree 2:2 preferably in Education studies/English Literature/Language
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) certificate
- 1 year of experience within a classroom setting with SEND students
- Knowledge about moving and handling
- De-escalating negative behaviour and being comfortable to do so
