Secondary Teacher, Gloucester, September Start Axcis Education is currently recruiting for a passionate and experienced SEND Teacher to work at a specialist school in the outskirts of Gloucester working with pupils who have a variety of learning difficulties and Autism. This role is to start in September and will be to teach a group of 10 or so pupils who all have high and low functioning Autism and a range of learning difficulties. The pupils are aged between 14 and 24 and you will have the support of a Team Leader and 6 to 7 Support Staff who will assist you to deliver high quality teaching sessions. Duties include creating a positive and passionate environment ensuring bringing fun and happiness in to the student's daily school routine. The school caters for young people with all levels of sight loss, multi-sensory impairment and a wide range of complex needs though their purpose built school and a specialist post 16 college. Based on the outskirts of Gloucester on a large, purpose built site with residential facilities; the school currently has a roll of 50 pupils from the ages of 5 to 25. The school has good transport links and free parking. There is the opportunity for this role to develop into a permanent position. With a good reputation across the South West and support from a dedicated group of Trustee's, this is a fantastic opportunity for a creative and determined SEND Practitioner. The ideal candidate will be a qualified Teacher with experience of working in a leanirng difficulties and Autism environment. You will have previously taught students within the 11 to 25 age range. Having Autism experience is not essential. It's important that the successful SEND Teacher is innovative and engaging in the classroom to ensure the best possible outcomes to learners. Due to the complex needs of the students, you must possess an empathetic approach to the learners. You will need to be aware of boundaries.
