Job Title: SEMH Learning Support Assistant
Are you passionate about supporting young people with mental health issues? Do you pride yourself on tackling challenging situations head on? If so, Axcis Education have the perfect role for you. The role is working at an alternate learning provision in Bristol that focuses on children who require support with SEMH. The ideal candidate would be patient, understanding and resilient and willing to put time and effort into building positive relationships with the students. The hours for this role will be 8.30am to 3.30 pm, Monday to Friday and the daily rate of pay starts at £93.38. Experience working with individuals with challenging behaviour and mental health issues would be ideal for this. This would also be a great opportunity for a psychology graduate who is looking to gain some professional experience. Responsibilities include: - Effectively using de-escalation techniques to handle behavioural outbursts - Working closely with other staff members to ensure the best support is being given to the students which suits their individual needs - Building rapport with the students while remaining understanding that this may take time due to their previous life experiences Requirements for this role include a passion for supporting students with SEMH, strong communication and written English skills, Right to Work in UK as well as an enhanced DBS on the update service, either one you currently have or can apply for as part of the process.
