Job Title: SEN Primary Teaching Assistant
A ‘Good’ Primary school based in Haringey are in need of a Special Needs teaching assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Key Stage 2 Pupil with ASD and Speech and Language difficulties within a mainstream classroom. The role will start in September 22 The ideal Special Needs teaching assistant will have previous experience working with ASD pupils and experience using PECS or Makaton is also highly desirable. You will also be required to implement specific teaching programmes as instructed by a speech and language therapist and occupational therapist. The successful teaching assistant will also be responsible for ensuring the successful integration of the pupil into the mainstream school. Ideally, you will have a calm nature, as well as a proactive and nurturing attitude. The school are looking for a Special Needs teaching assistant who has previous experience working with challenging behaviour. The student gets easily frustrated so the school are looking for someone who can support the student and teacher with behaviour management. Ideally you will be able to demonstrate strong relationship-building skills and the ability raise levels in Numeracy and Literacy. This is a full time role to start in September 22 and continue on for the rest of the academic year.
