As our ideal candidate, you will:
- Bring a patient and adaptable approach to supporting our wonderful students with ASD.
- Have solid experience under your belt, preferably within a secondary school environment, working closely with young people on the spectrum.
- Possess a creative toolbox of strategies to engage, motivate, and champion our students to reach their potential, both academically and socially.
- Be a team player to the core, collaborating seamlessly with teachers, parents, and other support staff to create a unified front in each student’s educational journey.
- Hold a genuine belief that every student has unique strengths and talents, and it’s your job to help them shine.
What your day will typically look like:
- Tailoring learning activities to suit the individual needs of students with ASD.
- Providing one-to-one support or small group sessions to bolster understanding and skill mastery.
- Navigating the often-tricky social and emotional landscapes with compassion and insight.
- Crafting a supportive environment where communication barriers are acknowledged and overcome.
