Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant - Early Years
Start Date: After the Easter Holidays
Location: South Harrow
Salary: Competitive (Dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent (Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
A special needs school in South Harrow is looking for experienced Early Years Teaching Assistants to join their dedicated team. This is a full-time position with no part-time options available.
About the Role:
Provide 1:1 support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Work with students aged 5-16, learning up to Lower Key Stage 2 level.
Assist in implementing PECS and Makaton communication strategies (advantageous).
Use de-escalation techniques to support students with behavioral needs.
Work closely with teachers and therapists to create a structured and nurturing learning environment.
Requirements:
CACHE Level 2 or 3 Certificate.
Minimum 6 months of UK-based school experience (essential).
Previous experience working with SEN students (preferred).
Strong understanding of ASD and SEMH.
Knowledge of PECS/Makaton and de-escalation techniques (advantageous).
