Job Vacancy: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (ASD Support) Location: Primary School, Hounslow Working Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM Salary: (£80-£97 daily depending on experience) Start Date: Immediate start for the right candidate An Ofsted Outstanding-rated primary school in Wimbledon is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who exhibits some challenging behaviours. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in helping the pupil manage their routine and learning, based on a well-established EHCP (Education, Health, and Care Plan). The school fosters an exceptional and supportive environment, known for its outstanding leadership and collaborative staff, which has earned top ratings in every Ofsted category. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 support to a primary-aged student with ASD, following an established routine guided by the school and EHCP. Assist the pupil in managing their behaviour and engaging positively with school activities. Work closely with the wider school team to create a nurturing, structured environment that promotes the pupil’s development. Participate in a trial day to understand the pupil’s needs and ensure a positive working relationship before the role commences. Requirements: Experience working with children with ASD and challenging behaviour is highly desirable. Ability to commit to full-time hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM. An enhanced DBS check on the update service, or willingness to obtain a new DBS (Child and Adult) if needed. A caring, patient, and flexible approach to supporting children with additional needs.
