Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: SEND Primary School, Greenford
Position: Full-Time, SEN Teaching Assistant
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am - 3:45pm
Start Date: ASAP
Commitment: Full Year
Axcis are looking for a compassionate and experienced SEN teaching assistant to join a team in a vibrant SEND Primary School in Greenford. The school supports 148 pupils with a range of special educational needs, providing a nurturing environment for children with various challenges, including general development delay, visual and hearing impairments, and autism spectrum disorder. The ideal candidate needs to engage with all the children and have a hands on approach.
Key Responsibilities:
-Support classes of around 8 pupils, working alongside one teacher and three teaching assistants.
-Assist children with GDD and sensory needs, including those requiring moving and handling (hoisting).
-Help de-escalate situations for both verbal and non-verbal children, ensuring their emotional well-being.
-Utilise communication methods such as PECS and Makaton to enhance engagement and understanding.

-Previous experience in an SEN setting is essential.
