Job Title: SEND Primary teaching Assistant in Mitcham
Position: SEND Teaching Assistant (ASD and ADHD)
Start Date: September
Role Overview:
A full-time SEND Teaching Assistant with specialisation in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is needed to support students in a primary school setting. The role involves providing tailored 1:1 or small group support, helping students with ASD and ADHD to engage with the curriculum and thrive in a structured environment.
Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 or small group support for students with ASD and ADHD
Implement individualised support plans and behaviour management strategies
Assist students in focusing, completing tasks, and developing social skills
Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to adapt learning activities
Monitor student progress and adjust support strategies as needed
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
Experience working with students with ASD and ADHD, particularly in a SEND setting
Strong understanding of the challenges associated with ASD and ADHD
Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trust with students
Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and tailored learning strategies
Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
Ability to start in September
