Axcis are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision within a mainstream secondary school in South Ockendon.
This role is within an Additional Resource Provision (ARP) supporting students aged 11–16 (Years 7–11) with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). The provision caters for up to 30 students and offers tailored, inclusive support within a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
-Supporting pupils with PMLD in their learning and personal development
-Assisting the class teacher with daily classroom activities and preparation
-Working 1:1 and in small groups to deliver differentiated support
-Helping to implement individual learning plans, EHCP targets, and therapies
-Promoting inclusion within the wider school community
Requirements:
-Experience working with children or young people with SEND (especially PMLD or complex needs)
-A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
-Excellent communication and teamworking skills
-A genuine passion for helping pupils thrive both academically and emotionally
-Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one)
