Axcis are currently working alongside a special needs school in Wandsworth who are looking for a full time teacher of science to deliver general science lessons in an SEND classroom setting 5 days per week as an ongoing role.
The hours will be 8.30am-3.30pm daily and you will be supporting classes across key stage 3 and key stage 4.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a thriving and lively science department.
This is an all through special needs school. The school is a relatively large Ofsted graded "good" school which specialises in supporting children with autism.
Each class is designated 5 support staff members to support the class science teacher; the class sizes average 7 students per class.
The school is easily accessible via public transport links with the closest station being only a five minute walk. There is also parking available on site.
Staff at the school has commented how inclusive and friendly the community is within the school and how supported they felt when they started. To be taken into consideration for this full time teacher of science job, it essential that you hold full UK QTS or QTLS with a PGCE and degree in science. Experience with autism is also essential to this role as you will be asked to provide evidence at interview stage. Additionally, Axcis can support training needs with a range of CPD courses and online resources as well as a friendly and supportive team who will be on hand at all times to assist you with any queries which may arise.
