Axcis have a vacancy for a SEND Teaching Assistant at a well respected specialist school in Gloucester working with children with PMLD aged 5 to 19 starting in September.
This fantastic specialist school uses a range of innovative teaching methods to help their students make the most of their educational experience. It's large and well resourced school with a fantastic atmosphere upon entering the grounds. Situated in central Gloucester with free parking and with excellent links to public transport, the school is easily accessible.
The role is five days a week, full time and will go on till the end of the academic year for the right candidate. The position is general in-class support - you may be expected to work one to one, in small groups or providing general in-class support as required. Experience of working with children and young people with PMLD is essential. Many of the pupils are non verbal and the ability to use Makaton and various other non-verbal communication would be highly advantageous.
Hours are 8.50 am to 3.20 pm, Monday to Friday and the pay is £75 to £80 per day depending on experience.
