Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant – Windsor
Are you ready to step into a role that demands resilience, creativity and a deep commitment to supporting young people with complex needs? A specialist SEND school in Windsor is searching for a teaching assistant who can bring energy, empathy and a problem-solving mindset to their team. What You’ll Be Doing: • Working 1:1 and in small groups with students who have profound learning difficulties, non-verbal communication needs and challenging behaviours. • Using creative approaches—visual aids, sensory activities and assistive technology—to engage students in learning. • Helping to implement tailored behaviour management strategies, de-escalating challenging situations with patience and skill. • Supporting students with personal care needs, always ensuring dignity and comfort. • Collaborating closely with teachers, therapists and parents to track progress and adapt support strategies. Who You Are: • You have at least three months of experience working with individuals with SEND—whether in a school, care setting or community support role. • You’re adaptable and can think on your feet, responding calmly to unexpected challenges. • You understand that communication isn’t just about words—you're comfortable using Makaton, PECS or other alternative methods (or willing to learn!). • You approach personal care with professionalism and respect for students' dignity. • If you drive, that’s a bonus (but not essential). If you have the patience, dedication and creativity to support young people with complex needs, we want to hear from you. If you’re up for the challenge, apply now.
