Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant Axcis Education is the leading specialist supply teaching agency, dedicated to providing quality support to children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant to work across schools in the Bicton area. As a Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with a range of SEND needs, ensuring they receive the tailored support necessary to achieve their full potential. You will work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and external professionals to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment. This SEND school strives to ensure all their children achieve what they need to prepare them for their best future, they support their pupils with healthy lifestyle choices, mental health and wellbeing and socially developing skills which will be needed as they move on through life. This school provides an aspirational and safe environment in which all of their pupils can develop the skills which will enable them to have a positive impact upon the world around them. Due to the location of this school being a driver would be essential. Key Responsibilities: - Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with SEND needs. - Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans (BSPs). - Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment. - Assist students with their academic and personal development. - Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to adapt resources and teaching strategies. - Maintain records and report on student progress. Requirements - Previous experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant is essential. - Knowledge of various SEND needs and effective strategies for support. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Empathy, patience, and adaptability. - A valid Right to Work document. - Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
