Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Maternity Cover) Location: Ealing, Southall, Greater London Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45 AM – 3:45 PM Start Date: April 2025 Contract: Full-Time | 1-Year Maternity Cover Axcis Education is recruiting for a committed and experienced SEN teaching assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive mainstream primary school in Ealing. This one-year maternity cover role offers a fantastic opportunity to support pupils aged 4–11 with speech and language needs, Autism, and a range of other special educational needs. Key Responsibilities: -Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions for children with SEN, particularly focusing on speech and language difficulties and Autism. -Collaborate closely with class teachers to create inclusive learning environments across Nursery to Year 6. -Use alternative communication systems such as PECS and Makaton to support pupils with language barriers. -Support emotional regulation, engagement, and classroom participation for all learners. Candidate Requirements: -Previous experience working with SEN children in a mainstream or specialist setting. -Confident using PECS and Makaton to aid communication. -Calm, empathetic, and positive approach to behaviour and learning support. -Strong communication and teamwork skills. -Willingness to provide personal care if required.
