Job Title: Teacher Autism School
Axcis Education are working with a client that are recruiting teachers to work at their special school in Newton-le-Willows that caters for people with autism aged between 5 and 25 years old. All positions are long term and start in November. Both full time and part time vacancies are available.
Based within a 15 minute walk from Newton-le-Willows train station, the school is easily accessible via public transport and car. You will aim to provide an environment in which each child/young person is given opportunities and teaching to develop his/her ability to become a happy, participating member of the family, school, college and community. Having been awarded the Wellbeing Award for Schools in 2020, this is an amazing school that makes a clear difference in the community and all of its students’ lives.
Axcis pay competitive rates. You will lead a group of teaching assistants and work closely with other teachers. Being resilient and enthusiastic is key to this rewarding position. Previous experience working with autism is essential. TeamTeach and Makaton trained candidates would be beneficial but not essential.
