Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Personal Care Required

Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team, working with students who have ASD and exhibit challenging behaviour. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting these students in both their academic and personal development, including providing personal care when necessary. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the classroom with the delivery of tailored educational programs for students with ASD. Support students in managing challenging behaviour, using positive behaviour management strategies. Provide one-on-one or small group support to help students achieve their learning objectives. Offer personal care assistance, including toileting, feeding, and hygiene needs, ensuring the dignity and comfort of the students. Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. Monitor and record student progress, communicating effectively with parents and carers about their child’s development. Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt learning activities to meet the specific needs of each student. Promote social and emotional well-being, helping students develop communication and social skills. Requirements: Previous experience working with children with ASD and challenging behaviour is essential. A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or special educational needs is highly desirable. Patience, empathy, and a calm approach to managing challenging situations. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Experience in providing personal care to children with additional needs.
