Job Title: Teaching Assistant – Special School
Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can support children and young people with complex needs? A specialist SEND school in Reading is seeking a committed and adaptable teaching assistant to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work with students from primary age through to post-16, providing essential support tailored to their individual needs.
Role Overview:
• Full-time position: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
• Work across different age groups based on school requirements
• Assist students with personal care, sensory activities and communication development
• Support teachers in creating a structured and engaging learning environment
• Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours while fostering a positive atmosphere
Ideal Candidate:
• A minimum of three months’ experience working with individuals with SEND
• Flexible and willing to support students across various age groups
• Comfortable assisting with personal care tasks
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• UK driving license preferred
