**Job Overview:**
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join Axcis Education to help support schools in and around Shaftesbury. As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide support to classroom teachers in delivering educational excellence to a diverse group of students, including those with special educational needs and disabilities. This part-time, flexible role is perfect for someone who is passionate about education and thrives in an environment where no two days are the same.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Assist the classroom teacher in preparing and delivering engaging lessons that cater to the needs of all students.
- Provide targeted support to individuals or small groups of students, including those with SEND, under the direction of the teacher.
- Contribute to creating a safe, supportive, and motivating learning environment.
- Monitor and support pupil progress, both academically and socially, keeping thorough records when necessary.
- Assist with classroom management and maintaining discipline in line with the school's policies.
- Support the teacher in the use of resources and equipment, ensuring materials are available and prepared for lessons.
- Help manage the behaviour of pupils while they are undertaking work, ensuring a constructive environment.
- Participate in school events and activities when required.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and professionals to support the individual needs of pupils.
- Maintain confidentiality on all school and student matters.
- Support students during lunch breaks, excursions, and extracurricular activities as needed.
**Qualifications and Skills:**
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or working with children is desirable but not essential.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, resilience, and a positive, encouraging attitude.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work with students of various abilities and needs.
- Ability to work cooperatively with staff, students, and parents.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
- A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or a willingness to undergo training.
- A valid Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
