Job Title: Teaching assistant
Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs? We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the SEND department at a mainstream college in Merton. About the Role: -Support learners aged 16-18 with varied special educational needs. -Assist students with academic learning, daily tasks, and break times. -Accompany students on short walks or chaperone them to local shops when required. -Work closely with teaching staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Start ASAP – Long-term role until July 2025 (initially). Working Hours: - 4 days per week (Tuesday – Friday) OR - 2 days per week (Tuesday & Thursday) - Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM Ideal Candidate: -Experience working with young people with SEND, ideally in an educational setting. -Patient, empathetic, and adaptable to individual student needs. -A team player who is confident in providing one-to-one and small group support. -This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in students' lives while gaining valuable experience in a supportive and inclusive college setting.
