Job Description:
Axcis Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Level 2 Teaching Assistant for a full-time position at a highly regarded primary school in Romford, Havering. This school has a strong reputation within the local community and recently achieved a 'Good' rating from OFSTED.
The successful candidate will be working primarily with Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils who require additional support due to SEND needs, challenges in socialising, and/or behavioural difficulties. You will be working 1:1 support as well as group support.
A key part of this role involves supporting pupils with their literacy development, with a specific focus on phonics-based learning. As many of the children you’ll be working with may have gaps in their reading and writing skills, your ability to implement phonics techniques to improve literacy will be essential.
Key Responsibilities:
-Provide 1:1 and group support to Key Stage 2 students, particularly those with additional mental health needs and behavioural difficulties.
-Implement phonics-based strategies to help pupils improve their reading and writing skills, supporting their overall literacy development.
-Assist children in developing social skills and help them manage emotions in a school environment.
-Collaborate with the classroom teacher and SENCO to adapt lesson plans, ensuring they meet the individual needs of each student.
-Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff, helping adjust support where necessary.
-Assist with general classroom duties, including preparing resources and supporting lessons.
-Take part in intervention
