Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Full-Time Teaching Assistant (1:1 ASD Support)
Location: Ealing
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Ealing is looking for a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil with ASD. This is a full-time, long-term position with an immediate start.
Role Overview:
-Support a bright, articulate Year 1 pupil with ASD on a 1:1 basis, following a personalised timetable.
-Encourage focus, set clear boundaries, and help the child manage transitions and follow instructions.
-Use sensory tools and strategies to support emotional regulation and energy levels, in line with the pupil’s sensory diet.
-Foster the development of social interaction skills and confidence, helping the child build meaningful peer connections.
-Respond sensitively to occasional challenging behaviour, using proactive, positive behaviour management techniques.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
-Prior experience supporting children with ASD, ideally in a school setting.
-Knowledge of sensory processing needs and experience using sensory strategies.
-A calm, patient, and engaging approach—firm yet nurturing in setting boundaries.
-Strong initiative and the ability to adapt strategies based on the child’s needs and responses.
-An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
