Job Title: Team Teach - TA
Job Title: Team Teach Trained Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Preston, Lancashire
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Teaching Assistant who is trained in Team Teach strategies to join our supportive and thriving school located in Preston, Lancashire. As a Team Teach TA, you will work alongside classroom teachers to provide support and ensure the educational and social development of children with a range of abilities, behaviours, and additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide in-class support to children with a variety of educational needs, including those with behaviour challenges, SEN (Special Educational Needs), and EAL (English as an Additional Language).
2. Implement Team Teach techniques to manage behaviour and promote a safe and nurturing learning environment for all students.
3. Work closely with the teaching staff to plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the curriculum and tailored to individual student needs.
4. Facilitate small group activities and one-on-one support to help pupils meet their potential.
5. Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
6. Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting any concerns to the class teacher or SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) as appropriate.
7. Encourage positive behaviour and social skills through effective reinforcement and Team Teach de-escalation strategies.
8. Assist with the supervision of pupils during break times, lunchtimes, and on school outings, ensuring their safety at all times.
9. Attend and contribute to team meetings and professional development sessions.
10. Abide by all school policies, including those relating to safeguarding, health, and safety.
Key Requirements:
- A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
- Team Teach training with a valid certification.
- Proven experience working with children within an educational setting, particularly those with challenging behaviour and additional needs.
- Strong understanding of child development and learning processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, flexibility, and a compassionate approach to supporting learners.
- A commitment to continuous professional development.
- Enhanced DBS check cleared.
