Axcis Education have an exciting opportunity for a Team Teach trained teaching assistant to join a lovely PRU (pupil referral unit) based in L4 in Liverpool. This lovely school are looking for a teaching assistant to join their wonderful key stage 3 class.This is a full time, ongoing role which will be Monday to Friday 8:30-3:30pm. The successful candidate will be working closely with pupils with SEMH (social and emotional mental health) who have challenging behavior. The children are aged between 11-19, and all pupils have SEMH, so a candidate with knowledge or personal experience with SEMH would be advantageous.
Team Teach is an accredited, award winning provider of positive behavior, and basically equips individuals to be able to deal with various challenging situations and behavior. Team Teach is all about prevention, and stopping pupils getting got the point of being restrained, it is about de-escalation.
In this school you will be working alongside the class teacher, who already has a strong relationship with the pupils. You will support the students and teacher with anything they require, and be able to deal with some of the more challenging behavior from pupils. The ideal candidate would be Team Teach trained, this is essential to apply; also if the candidate has experience with challenging behavior and how to manage it, this would be advantageous. Aside from this you will need to have GCSE maths and English, grade C or above, but otherwise no other qualifications are necessary.
