Job Title: Teaching Assistant - ASD
Job Title: Teaching Assistant for Year 1 Pupil with ASD Location: Primary School, Hillingdon Hours: Full-time, 08:30 - 16:00 | Long-term position We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work with a delightful Year 1 pupil who has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to provide personalised support and create a tailored timetable to meet the pupil's needs. The child experiences challenges with concentration and requires clear boundaries, although he responds well to direction. He is articulate, has a great sense of humour, and enjoys having fun in a structured learning environment. The ideal candidate will have plenty of energy, a positive and engaging personality, and an interest in psychology to support the pupil’s development. Key Responsibilities: -Provide one-to-one support to a Year 1 pupil with ASD. -Help the pupil stay focused by setting clear and consistent boundaries. -Adapt teaching materials to suit the pupil’s individual needs. -Create a positive, fun, and supportive learning environment. -Collaborate with the class teacher and other staff to ensure the pupil’s progress. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: -Experience working with children with ASD or additional learning needs. -A positive and energetic approach to working with young children. -The ability to establish clear boundaries and provide direction and support. -An interest in psychology or child development is desirable. -Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
