Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (ASD) in Wembley
We are recruiting a dedicated SEND teaching assistant for a mainstream primary school in Wembley to support a 7-year-old boy with non-verbal autism on a 1:1 basis. This role is full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30 – 4:00, with a 4:30 finish on Tuesdays). About the Role: • Providing individualised support to a child with non-verbal autism. • Managing challenging behaviour with a patient and adaptable approach. • Using creative methods, including drawing and whiteboard activities, to engage the child. • Acting as a positive role model, building trust and connection. • Adapting support strategies to meet the child’s evolving needs. • Working closely with teachers, SENCO and parents to support development. About You: • Experienced in primary education, ideally with SEND experience. • Excellent at building relationships and gaining a child’s trust. • Patient, calm and resilient in managing behaviours. • Creative and engaging, able to adapt activities to suit the child’s interests. • Confident in behaviour management and implementing support strategies. • Qualified to at least Level 3 (UK qualification required).
