Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant - Slough

A welcoming and inclusive special school in Slough is seeking a dedicated SEND teaching assistant to join their team. This full-time role (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM) offers the chance to work with students of all ages who have a variety of needs, including ASD, PMLD, communication difficulties and complex behaviours.
Your Role:
As a key member of the support team, you’ll assist in delivering engaging, accessible learning experiences while helping students develop essential life skills. You’ll work across different age groups, adapting to varied needs and classroom environments. Personal care duties will be part of your role, so a compassionate and professional approach is essential. The ability to remain calm under pressure and respond proactively to challenges is crucial.
What We’re Looking For:
• Experience working with individuals with SEND (this could be personal, voluntary or professional experience)
• Confidence in supporting students with challenging behaviours
• A proactive, empathetic and adaptable mindset
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A willingness to be flexible and responsive to students’ needs
