Job Title: 1-2-1 Teaching Assistant
We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated and nurturing primary school community in Bolton rated 'Good' by Ofsted. You will be required to work 1:1 with a Key Stage 2 (KS2) child with autism, helping them achieve their full potential in a supportive and understanding setting. The Role: As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will be pivotal in supporting a KS2 student with autism, ensuring they receive the tailored support they need to thrive both academically and socially. You will work closely with the class teacher and the SENDCo to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: • Provide individualised 1:1 support to a KS2 student with autism, focusing on their academic, social, and emotional development. • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement and adapt personalised learning plans. • Develop a trusting and supportive relationship with the student, fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment. • Monitor and track the student’s progress, providing regular updates to teachers, parents, and relevant professionals. • Assist with classroom management and ensure the student is included in all classroom activities. • Promote the student’s independence, confidence, and social skills through consistent and empathetic support. Requirements: • Experience working with children with autism in an educational setting. • Strong understanding of the needs of children with autism and effective strategies to support them. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. • Relevant qualifications or training in SEND or autism support (desirable but not essential).
