Job Advertisement: Teaching Assistant (SEMH and Challenging Behaviour) Position: Teaching Assistant (SEMH and Challenging Behaviour) Location: St Helens Salary: Competitive, based on experience Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Role Overview: We are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a team. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other staff members to provide essential support to students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour. This role is pivotal in creating a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment. Key Responsibilities: • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour. • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavioural Support Plans. • Support classroom activities and help create a structured and engaging learning environment. • Work collaboratively with teachers to develop and deliver tailored lesson plans and activities. • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/guardians. • Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their social and emotional development. • Implement and uphold the school’s behaviour management policies and strategies. • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in SEMH and behavioural management.
