We're on the lookout for an experienced ASD Teacher to join our team and contribute to the success and development of our students. You'll play a crucial role in nurturing their abilities and helping them overcome challenges.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Plan, prepare, and deliver tailored lessons that cater to the individual educational needs of students with ASD.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to manage classroom behaviour and promote positive learning outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with other educators, support staff, and parents to ensure a consistent approach to each student's education.
- Monitor and assess students' progress, adapting teaching methods as necessary to maximize student engagement and achievement.
- Participate in the creation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Stay current with the latest educational techniques and approaches relating to ASD, ensuring that best practices are followed.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to support staff, helping them to effectively assist in the classroom and learning activities.
- Create an inclusive, supportive environment that acknowledges and celebrates the diversity of the student body.
**Requirements:**
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent educational qualifications relevant to the role.
- Proven experience teaching students with ASD in a secondary school setting.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with ASD and how to address them in an educational context.
- Knowledge of current educational practices, including the use of technology to aid learning.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, adaptability, and a positive outlook to inspire confidence and progress in students.
