Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: SEND Primary School, Greenford
Position: Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am - 3:45pm
Start Date: ASAP
Commitment: Full academic year
Axcis is looking for a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic team at a well-resourced SEND Primary School in Greenford. The school supports 148 pupils with a variety of special educational needs, including general developmental delay (GDD), visual and hearing impairments, and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The successful candidate will play a hands-on role in helping these children thrive in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
-Support small classes (around 8 pupils), working closely with one teacher and three teaching assistants.
-Assist children with GDD and sensory needs, including those requiring hoisting and other moving/handling support.
-Help manage and de-escalate situations with both verbal and non-verbal pupils.
-Use communication methods such as PECS and Makaton to engage and support pupils.
-Provide personal care, including toileting and hygiene support, as part of your role.

Requirements:
-Previous experience in an SEN setting is essential.
-Enhanced DBS on the update service.
-Commitment to supporting pupils throughout the academic year.
-Willingness to assist with personal care when necessary.
