Axcis Education is recruiting for an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support a Looked After Child (LAC) in EYFS within a welcoming mainstream primary school in Sale. This is a full-time, long-term role running until the end of the 2025/26 academic year. The successful candidate will provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child who has experienced previous trauma and presents with SEMH needs and behavioural challenges. The role requires a patient, nurturing, and resilient individual who can build a strong and trusting relationship with the child while implementing tailored behaviour management strategies. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to create a structured and supportive learning environment that meets the child’s emotional and academic needs. This position is ideal for a Teaching Assistant with previous experience in EYFS and a strong understanding of SEMH, trauma-informed approaches, and behaviour management. The ability to adapt strategies to meet individual needs and a calm, consistent approach are essential. An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one) is required.
