Job Title: BSL Teaching Assistant
Full-Time BSL Teaching Assistant – Mainstream Primary School in Brent A welcoming, inclusive mainstream primary school in Brent are seeking a British Sign Language (BSL) Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. This full-time role involves working in a specialist additional unit supporting deaf and hearing-impaired students. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and group support for deaf and hearing-impaired students, ensuring their educational and emotional needs are met. Use British Sign Language (BSL) to facilitate communication and learning, tailoring support to each student’s individual needs. Collaborate closely with class teachers, the SEN team, and other support staff to adapt learning materials and classroom activities. Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment, helping students develop confidence and independence. Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents where necessary. Key Requirements: Fluency in British Sign Language (BSL) is essential. Previous experience working in a similar role supporting deaf and hearing-impaired students. Confidence in delivering tailored support in both academic and social settings. Ability to work as part of a collaborative team, with a genuine passion for supporting the development of all children. Full-time availability with immediate start. Why Join?
